Monkey To Millionaire - Lantai Merah

Awesome!!! Predikat yang pantas untuk album milik trio dari Jakarta , Album yand di produseri Joseph Saryup (Santamonica) dan di rilis di bawah Sinjitos Record.

Band Alternative ERock ioni sebelumnya sudah merilis E.P di tahun 2006 , bertitle kan sama dengan nama mereka , Monkey To Millionaire. Wiznu (Lead vocal, Guitar), Agan (Bass, 2nd vocal), Emir (Drum), kalau menuirut saya mereka bisa menjadi penegah di idustri musik Ihndonesia , khususnya not mainstream. Ketika anak-anak muda sekarang menggandrungi band-band seperti Pee Wee Gaskins , musik mereka patut di denagar.

Di album ini saya paling suka dengan lagu "STRANGE IN THE SONG IN OUR CONVERSATION" yang di dalamnya ada take vocal dari seorang perempuan bernama Marsha.

Sekilas tentang mereka . . .

Pada awalnya mereka semua mulai suka nge-band pada era SMA dan mempunyai nama Lucca dan lebih suka menyanyikan lagu-lagu dari band favourite mereka seperti Weezer. Kemudian, mereka sempat "break-up" , tapi pada tahun 2004 mereka memutuskan bergabung kembali dengan nama yang baru yaitu Monkey To Millionaire, diambil dari frase yg sering orang-orang bilang "From zero to Hero".

Mulai dari situ lah, mereka mencoba membuat album self-titled EP atau mini album bersama Sinjitos Record. Berselang 2 tahun, pada tahun 2006 mereka berhasil membuat 5 lagu dalam album tersebut. Salah satunya adalah "Rules and Policy" (real good song..) yang mereka ikut sertakan ke ajang kompetisi band indie yaitu L.A Lights Indiefest pada tahun 2007. Alhasil, lagu tersebut terpilih sebagai single pertama di dalam album kompilasi L.A Lights Indiefest vol. II tahun 2008.

Setahun kemudian mereka membuat gebrakan baru dengan merilis album penuhnya yang berjudul "Lantai Merah" pada tanggal 30 mei 2009. album ini ada 10 lagu, diantaranya 6 berbahasa Indonesia dan 4 lainnya berbahasa Inggris. Semuanya memang nikmat-nikmat banget buat didengerin.

Pernah saya melihat mereka perform Live di TV , waktu itu mereka main bareng THE S.I.G.I.T , di acara salah satu televisi swasta , KAGET !!! persaan saya ketika melihat merek. Jauh berbeda dengan isi album mereka , penampilan mereka secara Live jauh dari kesan WAH !. Masih kuranmg rapih , dan pengaturan sound nya pun masih "SENSOR'. Tak apa , ytang penting tetap cinta album ini.
